ADHD 아동 어머니의 양육경험 사례연구 = A Qualitative Research about Rearing Experiences of Mothers with ADHD Children

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 ADHD 아동의 어머니가 아동을 양육하면서 겪고 있는 어려움들을 살펴보고자 10명의 ADHD 아동의 어머니들을 대상으로 비구조화된 질문지를 이용하여 면담을 실시하였다. 면담의 내용을 분석한 결과, ADHD 아동을 양육하면서 겪는 어머니의 어려움은 구체적으로 학업, 시간관리, 또래관계, 가족관계, 의사소통 등의 다섯 가지 영역으로 나타났다. 첫째, 학업 영역에서는 학업성취, 숙제, 학습 환경에서의 어려움을 호소하였다. 둘째, 시간 관리 영역에서는 등교 전과 방과 후, 여가시간 관리에서의 어려움을 호소하였다. 셋째, 또래관계 영역에서는 또래관계 유지하기와 대화 기술, 자기 통제에서의 어려움을 호소하였다. 넷째, 가족 관계의 영역에서는 형제와의 문제와 아버지, 친척들과의 관계에서의 어려움을 호소하였다. 다섯째, 의사소통 영역에서는 듣기 태도, 적절한 말하기, 상대방 말의 의도 파악하기, 반응하기에서의 어려움을 호소하였다. 본 연구는 ADHD 아동을 양육하는 어머니에게 어려움이 되는 장면을 구체적으로 제시함으로 아동 양육에 있어 아동의 특성을 보다 쉽게 이해하고, 현장에서 적극적으로 활용할 수 있는 지원 프로그램을 모색하는데 유용한 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to examine difficulties of being suffered by mothers` rearing children with ADHD. Interview was carried out by using non-structured questionnaire targeting 10 mothers of children with ADHD. As a result of analyzing the contents of interview, the difficulties of being suffered by mothers` rearing children with ADHD were indicated to be five spheres specifically such as schoolwork, time management, peer relationship, family relationship, and communication. First, in the sphere of schoolwork, the difficulty was complained in academic achievement, homework, and learning environment. Second, in the sphere of time management, the difficulty was complained in before going to school, after school, and leisure time management. Third, in the sphere of peer relationship, the difficulty was complained in keeping peer relationship, communication skill, and self-control. Fourth, in the sphere of family relationship, the difficulty was complained in problem with sibling and relationship with father and relatives. Fifth, in the sphere of communication, the difficulty was complained in the listening attitude, speaking properly, grasping counterpart`s talking intention, and reacting. This study specifically suggested the scenes of becoming difficulties to the mothers who bring up children with ADHD, thereby being expected to be likely able to be applied to useful basic data in seeking a support program, which can understand children`s characteristics more easily and can be utilized positively in the field as for rearing children.
