The aim of this experimental research is to find out the structure and the content of Korean traditional Dance, to establish the basis of its structural understanding, and to critically explore the teaching direction. How to learn and teach the essence of Korean Traditional Dance? The answer is to teach the basic structure of it. To put it concretely, its contents will be 1) structuralization of the purpose and intention of Korean Traditional Dance, 2) structural understanding of the condition of its performance, 3) structuralization of its process, and 4) structuralization of the contents of the dance. To understand the Korea dance structurally means to comprehend the basic conditions of its performance, which is developing the recognition from individual to common, from special to general, or from concrete to abstract. The kernal contents of the structure of Korean traditional dance are composed of Chum-Sawee, or Dancing motions. Chum-Sawee should be understood with the connection of the spatiotemporal backgrounds in which Koreans experienced historically. The clue of understanding Korean dance will be Chang-tan, or Korean Rhythm pattern. Chang-tan, which is rooted on the spirit, can be seen as a echo which is automatically emerged according to the change of the spirit. The change of human feelings brings the change of the breath, and this brings the various tunes. This principle will be a effective tool to analyze the dance. The structure of the traditional dance is mainly the structure of open-ness, and the way of ``how to open`` reveals the principles of the dance.
