The question of duty, in regard to foreign missions, rests indeed, as I conceive, on grounds entirely distinct from that either of the success, or of the failure, of missionary institutions. But facts are asked for by those, who wish for encouragement, and direction in the cause; and they are demanded by others, as evidence that it is a cause, which deserve encouragement.
