환경중심 언어중재가 자폐 아동의 자발적 발화와 반향어 산출에 미치는 효과 = The Effect of Milieu Language Intervention on Spontaneous Utterance and Echolalia Production with Autistic Children

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 자폐 아동 1명을 대상으로 환경중심 언어중재가 자폐 아동의 자발적 발화와 반향어 산출에 미치는 효과를 알아보았다. 환경중심 언어중재는 아동 지향 모델, 요구 모델, 시간지연, 우발 교수의 네 가지 방법을 모두 사용하였고, 6가지 중재 상황별로 4회기씩 총 24회기를 실시하였다. 연구 결과를 살펴보면 첫째, 자발적 발화와 반향어의 합으로 정의된 전체 발화량의 양적 증가는 크게 나타나지 않았지만, 자발적 발화는 증가하고 반향어는 감소하였다. 둘째, 독립 발화와 반응 발화의 합으로 정의된 자발적 발화는 양적으로 크게 증가하였고, 발화의 자율성을 지닌 독립 발화의 비율이 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 반향어의 질적인 감소에 효과적이었다. 유형별로는 즉각 반향어보다 지연 반향어의 비율이 크게 감소하였고, 기능별로는 의사소통 목적을 가지는 상호작용 기능의 반향어 산출이 크게 증가하였다. 따라서 환경중심 언어중재는 자발적 발화가 적고 반향어 산출이 많은 자폐 아동의 자발적 발화를 양적, 질적으로 향상시키며, 반향어를 질적으로 감소시킴으로써 효과적인 언어중재방법이라고 결론지을 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study examined the effects of milieu language intervention on autistic children`s spontaneous utterance and echolalia production. Using single subject design as a study method, pretest and posttest by an informal method were conducted. Milieu language intervention(MLI) included all four methods such as model procedure, mand-model procedure, time-delay technique and incidental teaching procedure, and a total of 24 sessions were conducted in 6 kinds of intervention situation which causes chances of incidental learning. As the results of this study, first, MLI did not have effects on quantitative increase in the total utterance production defined as the conjunction of spontaneous utterance and echolalia, while qualitative meanings were found in respect that spontaneous utterance increased and echolalia decreased. Second, spontaneous utterance defined as the conjunction of independent utterance and response utterance increased a lot quantitatively and the rate of independent utterance which has autonomy of utterance was high. Third, MLI was effective in decreasing echolalia qualitatively. In respect to types of echolalia, the rate of delayed echolalia decreased largely than that of immediate echolalia. By communicative function of echolalia, production of echolalia which is produced for the purpose of communication was increasing gradually. Thus, MLI improves qualitatively and quantitatively spontaneous utterance of autistic children and it is very effective in decreasing echolalia qualitatively. In addition, it helps produce meaningful echolalia for the purpose of communication, so it can be concluded that it is an effective language intervention in promoting limited language of autistic children.
