This study aims to find out the changes in the dance performance market using Big Data and Delphi method. I would like to study the direction of development and utilization of the dance performance market in the post-COVID-19 era. For the study of this paper, Big Data was used, and consumers' attitudes and perceptions of domestic dance performances were analyzed with keywords of ‘dance’ and ‘performance’ by dividing them before and after COVID-19. In addition, a Delphi method survey was conducted for the objectivity of the direction of development of the dance performance market in the post-COVID-19 era.
Through Big Data analysis, online comments, news, and SNS related to domestic 'dance performances' were collected and analyzed before and after COVID-19. In particular, the topic modeling analysis method, one of the Big Data analysis methods, was used to categorize the main factors of changes in performance consumers' consumption behavior and attitudes toward dance performance before and after COVID-19, and to suggest implications for the business decision of dance performance after the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, based on the results of Big Data analysis, the direction of development of dance performances after COVID-19 was derived, and major factors of change in the dance performance market were identified through Delphi methods.
As a result of Big Data analysis, words that cannot be found before COVID-19 such as ‘classic,’ ‘actor,’ ‘k-pop,’ ‘chorus,’ and ‘history’ appeared after COVID-19. In addition, after COVID-19, a new form of performance culture that attracts audiences to a specific space appeared, and convergence performances became more active after COVID-19.
The Delphi method was conducted based on the results of Big Data analysis, and practical experts in the field of the dance performance market were selected to increase objectivity and reliability. Delphi's first and second surveys were conducted through questionnaires, and CVR analysis was conducted in the second analysis. The results of the Delphi method showed that the activation of the convergence of the dance performance genres and the production of creative works were high valued validity in the Works and Cast section. In the Advertising Promotion section, usage increment of online media such as SNS or YouTube, online promotional activities through video production, global promotion using online, and the use of various media to get customers were high valued validity over 0.9.
In conclusion, it was found that the strategic planning factor for dance performances that can be developed in the future of post COVID-19 with changing performance environment was the advertising promotion. Online promotional activities through SNS and video promotions such as YouTube were found to be very important as new performance planning factors in the post-COVID-19 era. As a strategy for the development of dance performances in the post-COVID era, it is expected that online performance contents will expand by increasing the diversity of convergence dance performance genres and using online performance platforms. Therefore, it can be expected that developing a new genre of dance performance using the planning strategy of dance performance that can expand diverse audience will have a positive effect on popularizing the dance performance market.
