장소성 해석을 중심으로한 동숭동 주상복합 계획안 = (A) design of the mixed-use residential building based on the analysis of the placeness

국문 초록 (Abstract)

대학로는 대표적인 우리나라의 문화적 거리로, 정책적으로 조성된 최초의 문화예술의 거리이며 독특한 문화 예술적 이미지를 가진 장소의 계속해서 발전을 해 왔다. 그러나, 또 한편으로는 소비성 업종이 침투하기 시작하면서 서울시의 또 다른 소비 공간으로, 청소년들의 유흥공간으로의 이미지가 형성되어 있기도 한 지금의 대학로는 그 어느 때보다도 활기차다. 문화의 거리라는 말에 어울리는 다양한 공연과 행사가 열리고, 거리에는 인파가 넘쳐난다. 변화와 다양성은 대학로라는 장소를 읽을 수 있는 대표적인 모습일 것이다. 오늘날 서울이라는 거대 도시에서 개발이라는 행위 아래 다양하고 많은 장소적 특성들이 변화해 가지만, 이 곳은 과거의 기억과 흔적들이 아직도 유유히 살아서 흐르고 있는 몇 안 되는 장소이자 다양한 건축적 체험의 장소이기도 하다. 이러한 상반된 정서는 한때 대학로를 지배하는 주요한 이미지였으나, 이제는 이들 간의 적절한 균형과 조화를 찾아야 할 때이다. 근현대사의 역사의 흔적과 이 시대의 변화의 에너지를 동시에 지니고 있는 흔치 않은 이 곳은 이미 현재의 모습을 갖추는 과정에서 많은 문제점의 표출과 그 해결과정을 반복해 왔었고 지금도 그 과정에 있으며 앞으로도 그 과정에 있을 것이다. '문화의 거리'의 위상과 기능을 회복하기 위한 많은 목소리들이 지금도 일어나고 있는 가운데 순간이 아닌 먼 미래를 내다보고 주변의 빠른 변화의 속도에 균형을 잡아 줄 수 있는 또 다른 관점으로서 주상복합을 통한 정주성에 대한 타당성과 그 방향을 제시하는데 본 연구의 목적이 있다.
이에 따라 본 연구는 각 사항별로 다음과 같은 방법으로 진행하였다. 서론 부분에서는 연구 배경 및 방법에 대해서 언급하였고, 2장에서는 장소성의 일반적 개념과 현상학적 의의를 알아본다. 3장에서는 동숭동에서의 장소성을 구체적으로 분석하여 하나의 상위 개념으로 전이시키는 과정과 여기에 개입되는 직관과 이마주(Image)의 관계들을 제시하고, 4장에서는 구체적인 설계안을 보인다.
궁극적으로 제시되는 물리적 매개물인 '주상복합'은 동숭동이라는 특별한 장소에서 정주환경에 대한 애착과 장소성을 형성하고 이를 통하여 주변과의 일체감이 생기게 할 수 있는 방향으로 제시되어야 할 것이다.
이러한 관점에서 동숭동이라는 장소성은 계획안의 중요한 요소이다. 장소성은 공간, 방의 벽과 그것을 둘러싸고 있는 물리적 사물, 인간이 머무는 공간, 사건, 위치, 경험, 자연 환경적 특성, 역사적 사건과 의미, 건축적 체험에 의해 형성되는 주관적 산물과 정신활동, 이 모든 것을 통해서 그 의미를 가진다. 결국 장소성을 추구한다는 것은 장소가 갖는 의미를 기억하게 하고 건축이 장소로서의 역할을 하게 만드는 것이다.
대학로를 포함하는 동숭동의 문화적, 상업적 특성의 장소적 성격은 목적 지향적 방문자들에 의해 발생하는 각종 행위(Performance)가 이 장소 자체를 하나의 무대로서의 역할을 만들어 내며 주체와 객체의 인식전환을 이루어 낸다는 것이다. 즉 하나의 공연을 보기위해 이 장소를 찾는 방문자들과 그 사람들에 의해 이루어지는 각종 행위들에서는 그들이 주체로서 장소적 역할을 하지만 그 장소적 입장에 있어서는 그 장소를 구성하는 하나의 객체가 되는 것이다. 이것은 직관에 의한 이미지의 과정이다. 동숭동의 장소성을 인문학적 해석을 통해서 Performance, Happening, Event 라는 결과를 만들어 낼 수 있다.
Performance, Happening, Event 는 즉흥성, 우연성, 축제성, 마당성, 현장성, 참여성 등의 표현적 성격을 가지며, 일관되게 나타나는 현상이 아니라 복잡 다양한 양상을 보인다. 우연한 사건들의 꼴라쥬, 우발적 사건, 과정 자체의 표현, 유희성, 일상성 등을 통해서 현실을 바탕으로 변경된 현실이 창조되며, 특히, 시간성이 강조되어 시간의 흐름에 따라 생성, 변화하고, 소멸하는 불확정성의 미학 또는 소멸의 미학을 그 특징으로 한다.
이러한 인문학적 해석은 베르그송의 직관과 이마주(Image)의 관계를 통해 설명되어 질 수 있다. 베르그송에 따르면, 직관 자체가 표현되기 위해서는 두 가지 방법이 있으며, 그것은 개념과 이마주이다. 구체적인 직관의 단순성과 직관을 표현하는 추상 개념의 복잡성 사이에 개재하는 이마주는 직관 자체는 아니지만, 직관을 설명하기 위해서 의존해야만 하는 개념적 표현보다 훨씬 더 직관에 가까운 것이다.
동숭동의 현상학적 측면에서의 장소적 특성들은 직관과 이미지의 과정을 통해서 Performance, Happening, Event 라는 인문학적 결과를 형성하고, 이것은 장소와 인간과의 관계 속에서 다시 주상 복합 건물이라는 물리적 환경으로 구체화되는 것이다.
동숭동에서는 사람의 행위가 장소에서 가장 중요한 역할을 한다. 동숭동에서의 주상복합이라는 물리적 환경은 이러한 인간과 장소의 관계를 세심하게 배려할 수 있어야 할 것이다.
이러한 관점을 중심으로 동숭동에서 정주성의 의미와 당위성을 살펴보고 장소성을 토대로 한 주상복합의 방향을 제시하였다. 그렇다면, 장소성 해석을 근거로 제시되는 이 계획안은 주변 장소와의 새로운 관계 속에서 동숭동의 장소적 특성을 또 다른 방향으로 이끌어감과 동시에 기존의 동숭동이 하나의 대상지로서의 의미였다면 정주성이 성립된 동숭동은 또 다른 의미의 장소성을 만들어 낼 것으로 기대된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Daehakro is a representative cultural district which was carried out by a policy. On the other hand, with the infiltration of consuming districts, there has been a image of amusement. there are many public performances, plays, events and people. Change and diversity is a representative property to recognize Daehakro. This is one of several places which have the history of the past, traces and diversified architectural experience places. Though this contradictory traits have been dominative image, We have to search for the equilibrium and accord between them in this time. In the middle of presenting many demands to retrieve the dignity and capacity of 'Cultural District', The purpose of this study is to propose a propriety and possibility for the Mixed-Use Residential Building which reflects the analysis of its placeness and rehabilitates the identity of residential qualification to mediate the conflicts between consuming fields and cultural fields in Dongsoongdong.
So this study was processed as follows. At the way of introduction. I gave brief explanation of research method and background. At chapter 2, I presented a definition of placeness and significance of phenomenology in architecture. At chapter 3, I presented a process which transits placeness in Dongsoongdong to upper concept and the relationship between intuition and image intervening this. and At chapter 4, I presented a concrete planning.
The Mixed-use Residential Building which is a ultimately proposed physical medium will have to make affection and sense of placeness in particular place of Dongsoongdong. From this, It will have to make an unity with its circumstances.
In this point of view, The placeness of Dongsoongdong is an important element. Placeness include space, material objects surrounding its circumstances, an affair, a location, an experience, the meaning of history and the subjective intellectual products created by the architectural experience. In the end, To pursue the placeness is to memorize the meaning of the placeness and to make architecture play a role as the place.
the placeness of cultural and commercial property in Dongsoongdong is a transition between the subject and the object. the performance made by the visitor in the place make it a role of an arena. This is a process of an image by intuition. The placeness of Dongsoongdong can be deduced by the interpretation of Humanities and it is Performance, Happening and Event,
Performance, Happening and Event include expressional property implicating an extempore amusement, an accident, the actual sopt, the participation and so on. It expose intricate and various aspects which is not consistent. Its property is Aesthetics of extinction which is created, changed and disappeared by flowing of the time. This interpretation of Humanities is explained by the relationship between intuition and image. Bergson Henri said that there are two methods to manifest intuition itself. It is concept and image. Image interposing between a concrete simplicity of intuition and a complexity representing abstract is more closer than a conceptual expression on which we have to rely to describe intuition. The property of the placeness in the view point of phenomenology in Dongsoongdong form the consequence of Humanities, this is embodied a physical building of Mixed-use Residential Building in the relationship between places and human beings.
The most important element in this district is human being. Concerning the physical circumstance of the Mixed-use Residential Building in Dongsoongdong We have to consider the relation between human and place.
From this point of view, I investigated the meaning and the propriety of the settlement in Dongsoongdong and proposed a plan for the Mixed-use Residential Building based on the analysis of the placeness. This design based on the analysis of the placeness will lead the property of placeness in Dongsoongdong to other direction and we can have an expectation that Dongsoongdong formating the sense of settlement will make a different placeness having another meaning.
