섬(島)의 이미지를 應用한 象徵性 表現 硏究 : 本人의 作品을 中心으로 = (A) Study on the Expression of Symbolism through the Application of the Image of Island : Centering around this Researcher's Work

국문 초록 (Abstract)

20세기 초 추상미술의 전개는 인간의 내면세계에 대한 표현으로써 작가의 순수 감정에 따른 직관적 표현을 중요시하였으며, 3차원적 공간의 파괴와 그에 따른 2차원적 평면성에 대해 탐구로 이어졌다.
다양화되고 있는 오늘날의 예술행위 또한 그 궁극적인 목표는 인간의 내면세계와 그것을 둘러싼 외부 세계와의 만남이며 그 만남은 바로 현대미술을 다양한 양상으로 발전할 수 있도록 하는 중요 요인이다.
현대 사회를 살아가는 우리들은 급속한 물질문명의 발달과 혼잡함 속에서도 저마다 가슴속에 하나의 섬(島)을 가지고 있다고 생각한다. 이 '섬(島)'은 시간과 공간을 초월하여 우리들 가슴속에 하나의 존재자로서 자리잡고 있다.
본 연구는 자연 공간에 존재하는 '섬'(島)이라는 대상물을 순수 조형요소인 색채, 공간, 구도 등으로 표현하여 인간의 본성 및 가치 추구와 삶의 정체성에 대한 근원적인 물음에 접근하고자 한다. 제작 내용에서는 자연 공간에 존재하는 '섬'(島)의 이미지와 내면 세계에 존재하는 감정을 추상적으로 표현하였으며, 형태를 단순화 내지는 기하학적인 것으로 환원시킴으로 인하여 평면적인 화면을 추구하고자 한 것이다.
본 연구가 인간의 본성 및 가치 추구와 삶의 정체성에 대한 물음을 '섬'(島)라는 대상물을 통해 어떻게 상징적으로 표현되어지는가에 대한 배경과 목적을 기술하고자 한다.
작품 전개에 있어서의 표현방법을 통하여 섬(島)의 형상에 따른 상징성과 색채에 따른 상징성 및 섬(島)의 공간적 의미에 따른 상징성을 어떻게 표현하는가에 대해 고찰한다.
그리고 본인의 작품에 표현된 섬(島)의 색채와 공간 및 구도에 대한 표현내용과 방법을 작품 분석을 통하여 설명한다. 또한 각각의 작품에 표현된 사물의 이미지가 내포하고 있는 상징성의 의미를 밝혀보고 어떠한 표현기법으로 표현되어 있는지 살펴보고자 하는데 본 연구의 목적이 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Abstract art of the early 20th century focused on the expression of human inner world. It emphasized artists' intuitive expression based on their pure emotions. This led to the destruction of three-dimensional space and exploration of two-dimensional plane.
Today a variety of artistic behaviors have the ultimate goal of realizing meeting between the inner world of human and the outer world surrounding it. Such meeting becomes the very factor that makes it possible for contemporary art to develop in various ways.
This researcher thinks that people of modern society have their own island in mind, even though they live their life under a rapid development of material civilization and turbulences.
The purpose of this study is to approach fundamental inquiries about human nature, value pursuance and the identity of life by way of expression island as a natural objects in terms of pure formative factors, or color, space and composition. In his work, the researcher abstractly expressed the image of island within nature and emotions within the inner world. Then the researcher sought to create a plane image through simplifying related objects or converting them into geometric things.
In the study, the researcher tried to show how inquires in relation to human nature, value pursuance and life identity could be symbolically expressed by means of the object, or island.
Based on expression techniques used for the work, the study tried to find how to reveal symbolism in relation to the shape, color and spatial significance of island.
Then the study analyzed the researcher's expression of island and described methods applied to the color, space and composition of the work. And the researcher attempted to clarify the symbolic significance of the image expressed in the work and what techniques were used for the expression.
