韓國人 男女의 손잡이(Handedness)에 대한 연령별 경향 = The Trend of Handedness in Korean Males and Females According to Age Groups

국문 초록 (Abstract)

대뇌좌우차(cerebral laterality)란 양측 대뇌반구의 해부학적 및 기능정 차이점을 말한다. 이러한 양측 대뇌반구의 기능분담에 대해서는 최근까지 많은 연구자들에 의하여 연구되어져 왔다. 대뇌좌우차에 관한 연구는 뇌의 기능과 기능장애를 직접평가할 수 있고, 또한 그러한 영향을 미치는 요소들이 여러가지 유전적 정신질환에도 영향을 미친다고 생각되어질 수 있는데, 이러한 편측화된 대뇌기능의 파악에 있어서 손잡이(handedness)의 검사는 지배적인 대뇌(dominant hemisphere)를 쉽게 알아볼 수 있는 한 방법이므로 이에 대한 기초자료를 마련하고자 손잡이 검사를 실시하였다.
한국인으로서 대구직할시에 거주하는 만 6세에서 만 59세까지의 건강인 남·녀 1,514명(남자 761명, 여자 753명)을 설문조사대상자로 하였으며, 설문은 Annett의 설문과 Oldfield의 설문내용을 번안조합한 것을 사용하였고, 손잡이의 범주는 Lishman과 McMekan의 기준에 의거하였다.
통계처리한 결과는 다음과 같다 ;
·연령별 집단간의 분포에서는 연령이 증가함에 따라 오른손잡이의 분포는 증가하는 경향을 보였으나, 양손잡이의 경우는 연령증가에 따라 오히려 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다.
·남·녀간의 손잡이 분포에 있어서는 전체적으로 유의한 차는 없었으나 오른손잡이의 경우 여자에서는 consistent type이, 남자에서는 inconsistent type이 각각 유의성있게 높은 경향을 나타내었다.
·조사대상자의 대다수가 각 항목마다 오른쪽 사용을 선호하는 경향이 높았으나, 왼쪽의 높은 선호도를 보이는 항목은 9번(빗자루 쓸기), 10번(삽질하기), 19번(책가방들기), 21번(신발신기), 24번(웃옷입기)이었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The trend of the handedness was surveyed with the samples of 1,514 Korean males and females among the age group of elementary school(6-11), Junior high school(12-14), Senior high school(15-17), University(20-25), 30-39, 40-49 and 50-59 residing in Taegy city.
It has been suggested that handedness be a crude but readily testable aspect of cerebral dominance, i.e. a reflexion of the partition of functions between the two hemispheres of the brain.
In this study, Annett's and oldfield's hand preference questionnaires were used as the instrument for assessing handedness, and categorization of handedness was using the criteria established by Lishman and McMeekan.
As a results;
·Out of the total number of 1,514 males and females examined, 86.5% of them were regarded as strong right handers, 13.4% as mixed handers and 0.1% as strong left handers.
·The ratios of male to female for each handedness were as follows;
The ratio in strong right hander was 87.4% vs. 85.7%, in mixed hander was 12.6% vs. 14.2%, and in strong left hander was 0% vs. 0.1%.
But there was no significant difference between each group.
·With respect to male and female by each age group, the strong right hander was increased by the increase in ages, but mixed hander was decreased by the increase in ages.
·All objects showed high preference of right hands but some of them showed high preference of left hand in items No. 9, No. 10, No. 19, No. 21, and No. 24.
