The development of the synthetic textiles, since discovery of nylon, occupied an important position of clothing materials in the side of a busy midern people's costume life owing to the benefits of easy-care.
But one of problems in dress is an electrical charges of static electricity. As the static electricity has relation to the relative humidity, it he comes an abstruction of electricityin winter more than in summer which are is humid. In order to examine the phenomenon of electrical charges, I measured the fricitional electricity. In this experiments, I exactly keep the relative humidity, theatis, RH 20%, 40% and 65% and compared and examined with use of under wear suder wear such as cotton and nylon. As the experimental materials were used wool, Rayon, and polyester of 100%/ p/c, p/w.
As a result of this experiments, wer could see that nylon is showed less counter-electric pressure than cotton. There are several reasons that proue it to be true as following;
1. The surface frictional ohm of cotton is greater than that of nylon.
2. Because cotton is textiles which like water and showes the electric discharge on absorbing the humidity, it shows that the lower humidity, it shows that the lower humidity becomes, the higher counter-electric pressure appeares. The speed of electric discharge is less than about 0.01 sec.
3. Because nylon has flat surface and is textiles which do not like water, the speed of electric discharge of nylon is slower than that of cotton. The speed of electric discharge of nylon is about 1.7 minutes. So nylon shews the high electric pressure accordingly, there are several methods which rule out the static-electricity, but there is no method that completely rules out it. I we do not come to appear the phenomen which we feel the displeasure and clothes stick to each other.
I think that we have to consider the method which electrically discharge in the atmosphere, sometimes putting the transmittal materials into nylon itself.
