여가교육으로 행해지는 노인체육활동에 관한 연구 = A Study on Physical Activity of the Elderly After Receiving the Leisure Education

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 여가교육의 일환으로 행해지는 노인체육활동의 참여이유와 참여결과를 규명하여, 노인의 욕구와 특성에 알맞는 체육활동을 활성화하기 위한 기초자료를 마련하는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구대상자는 서울시에 소재하는 종합사회복지관의 사회복지서비스프로그램과 노인대학에서 여가교육의 일환으로 행하는 노인체육 프로그램에 참가하는 만 60세 이상의 노인 350명으로 하였으며, 측정도구로는 설문지를 사용하였다. 자료처리는 SPSS통계 프로그램을 이용하였으며, 대상자들의 특성을 알기 위해 평균, 빈도수, 표준편차 등을 구하였고, 가설검증을 위한 통계는 X²검정을 실시하였다. 가설검증의 결과, 연령별, 학력별, 과거직업별 체육활동 참여이유에 유의한 차이가 나타났으며, 학력별, 과거직업별, 한달용돈별, 동거형태별, 스트레스별, 주요타자별 체육활동결과의 여러문항에서 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 특히, 학력이 낮거나 과거직업 중 농업에 종사하던 노인들이 단체에 소속된 기쁨의 정도가 가장 높았다. 또한 체육활동 참여의 이유 중 1위는 <건강을 위해서>이며, 체육활동결과에서도 <건강유지>의 항목에서 긍정적인 반응이 가장 높게 나타난 것은 체육활동이 노인들의 욕구충족이나 건강관리의 측면에서 중요한 수단이 된다는 사실을 입증시켜 주었다. 따라서 더 이상 소외계층으로 머무르지 않을 노인들의 다양한 특성과 욕구를 충족시킬 다양한 프로그램 개발과 전문 지도자 양성이 절실히 필요하다고 본다. 고령화 사회의 진입에 따른 여가복지서비스의 실제적 프로그램으로서 체육활동을 통한 국민복지의 실현은 인간적인 삶의 욕구와 삶의 질을 향상시키는데 큰 몫을 하리라고 확신한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of the study are to find the reasons and effects of physical activity as parts of leisure education program and to prepare the fundamental data for the qualitative improvement and the quantitative spead of physical activity suitable for the needs and the characteristics of the elderly.
In order to achieve these objectives, a survey, based on interviews, was performed. In this survey, among the people who participated in social welfare institutions and the organizations for the elderly 350 responded.
The collected data were analyzed using SPSS statics program.
On the basis of the results analyzed in this study, conclusion were drawn as follows:
1. The reasons for the participation in physical activity were significant difference statiscally according to social economic factors and personal characteristics.(age, educational background, previous occupation)
2. The participate effects of physical activity were difference statiscally according to social economic factors and personal characteristics.(educational background, previous occupation, the amount of monthly pocket money, cohabition, stress)
1) According to the age, it was proved positive results in all age levels in the areas of "health sustainment", "happiness due to group involvement", and "reduction of psychological loneliness".
2) According to the educational level and the kind of prior occupation, it was proved arelevant difference in the area of "happiness due to group involvement". Especicially, the lower the educational level, the higher the positive response in the area of "happiness due to group involvement".
3) According to the cohabitation, it was proved a relevant difference in the area of "psychological loneliness".
3. The participate effects of physical activity were significant difference statiscally according to the reasons for the participation in physical activity and significant factors.
It proves the fact that the accomplishment of public welfare through physical activities as parts of leisure education and welfare service program play an important role to improve the quality of life. Therefore, it is necessary to develop various programs and to train proffessional instructors suitable for the various characteristics of the elderly.
