      In this study, the coloring effects of five kinds of hair coloring products were investigated. A simple hair dye formulations were made by primary dye intermediates and dye couplers in base solution. p-Phenylenediamine, p-toluenediamine, and p-aminophenol were used as primary dye intermediates. m-Aminophenol and m-phenylenediamine were used as a dye couplers. For gel formation when hair dye solution was added to oxidizing solution, isocetyl alcohol was used as viscosity enhancer in preparing five kinds of oxidative hair coloring products. Acid perspiration test, drop movement test, temperature rising measurement, dye ability for grey hair were studied. Five kinds of hair coloring products in this study showed good fastness overall, however, dyed hair samples became somewhat reddish yellow after acid perspiration test.
