2009개정 교육과정에 따른 초등학교 학년군 제도의 현장 적용에 대한 탐색적 연구 = An Explorative Study on the Effects of Curriculum Stage in Korean Elementary Schools

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The primary purpose of this study is to examine how Korean elementary teachers respond to the curriculum stage which was newly introduced in the 2009 National Curriculum, and what changes have made in school curricula since the inception of the new curriculum. To achieve this goal, this study makes use of teacher interview data and curriculum documents collected from ten demonstration schools located in Seoul and its nearby cities. Major findings illustrate that the teachers tend to have limited understandings of the curriculum stage, while the schools are reluctant to accomodate the existing curricula to the new curriculum system. Nonetheless, positive effects were visible in extra-curricular areas and a few schools were more active in re-organizing their curricular according the curriculum stage. Based on these findings this study provides theoretical and practical implications for further implementation of the curriculum stage in Korean elementary schools.
