According to the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the number of elderly households with dementia is expected to more than triple between 2020 and 2050, and the population aging has led to an increase in elderly people living alone and dementia rates. In the past, it was a treatment-oriented idea, but recently it has changed to a management-oriented idea, and as interest in health care increases and IoT technology develops, IoT-based healthcare using smart wearable device base is expected to grow significantly. Therefore, the purpose of this study is divided into health signals and roaming detection services for the "IoT-based smart shoe city" for the elderly and socially disadvantaged in Busan Metropolitan City. It is planning to develop a smart shoe design that has major functions such as solar power generation, GPS location tracking, data collection, analysis, and notification service provision and management based on health abnormal signals and wandering detection.Chapter 1 established the background and purpose of the study, the method and scope of the study. Chapter 2 studied the theoretical background of aging society through literature research, identified problems in aging society, investigated research-related cases related to the Internet of Things (IoT) and Solar solar cells, and identified overall design and functionality based on this. In Chapter 3, after confirming the current status and necessity of wearable devices, a quantitative survey was conducted by identifying needs for design elements and investigating design preferences. In Chapter 4, the direction and concept of smart shoes were derived through XY-AXIS (PKC method), one of the process methodologies developed in this study, and product guidelines were established to efficiently achieve the research objectives. Based on this, various designs suitable for the concept were derived, 2D Rendering was carried out, and the final design of smart shoes was proposed through 3D modeling by selecting a final plan among several designs for preference surveys. In addition, UI/UX design was carried out in consideration of the user's situation. Chapter 5 discusses the conclusions and expected effects of this study, and future research directions Based on this study, we propose a wearable device smart shoe design that applies IoT technology for the elderly and the socially vulnerable, increase user satisfaction in design and functional aspects, and expect research and development of smart shoes for the elderly and the socially vulnerable.
