유소년부터 노년까지, 체조페스티벌 참여에 따른 세대교류 경험 연구 = Intergenerational interaction through participation in exercise festival: Experience of youth through elderly

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to understand and interpret the meaning of generational exchange experiences through physical activities of various generations from youth to the elderly in a social context. The research questions are as follows. First, what is the meaning of the generation exchange experience of the gymnastics festival for the participants? Second, if you interpret the meaning of generational exchange for each generation, what are the characteristics? Therefore, two teams from various generations were selected from among the participants of the ‘Active-aging Health Exercise Festival’ held in 2019 at Yonsei University, and a qualitative case study was conducted with a total of 18 participants in children/youth/adults/elderly. The results of this study are as follows: The meaning of the generational exchange experience of the participants was represented through three upper categories: ‘joy to be together’, ‘care or withdrawal’, and ‘transition of perception’, and the meaning of this result for each generation was analyzed.
In conclusion, it was confirmed that the experience of participating in the festival became an ‘opportunity’ that led to the special experiences, new discoveries, positive changes, and mental growth of the study participants. Based on this conclusion, this study suggested that the quality of the integrated generational education program and to provide opportunities for generational exchange, and for this, events such as exercise festivals should be held regularly.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 유소년부터 노년까지, 체조 페스티벌 참여로 인한 세대교류 경험은 어떠한지 이해하고, 각 세대별로 이것이 의미하는 바를 해석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 체조 페스티벌 참여에 따른 세대교류 경험의 의미는 무엇인가? 둘째, 세대교류 경험의 의미는 각 세대별로 어떠한 특성이 있는가? 이를 위해 연세대학교에서 2019년도에 개최된 ‘Active-aging 건강운동 페스티벌’ 참여자 중 다양한 세대가 참여한 두 팀을 선정하여 유소년⋅청년⋅중장년⋅노년 참여자 총 18명을 대상으로 질적 사례연구를 수행하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 참여자들의 세대교류 경험의 의미는 ‘함께 하는 기쁨’, ‘배려 혹은 물러남’, ‘인식의 전환’의 세 가지 상위 범주를 통해 대표 되었으며, 이 결과가 각 세대에게 의미하는 바는 다음과 같다. 유소년 참여자들에게는 긍정적 사회적지지 경험의 기회가 되었으며, 이를 통해 자기 자신과 사회 구성원들에게 긍정적 인식을 형성할 수 있게 된 교육적 의미가 있다. 청년 참여자들에게는 나이 많은 참여자들과 동등한 입장에서의 활동함을 통해 사회 경험의 틀을 확장하는 기회가 되었다. 중⋅장년 참여자들은 다른 세대 참여자들을 배려하는 자세를 보였으며, 이는 세대 간 중간자적 입장에서 이해의 폭을 확장하는 계기가 되었다. 노년 참여자들에게는 연령을 제약으로 인식하지 않고 사회참여를 감사한 마음으로 지속하여 성취감을 얻게 된 긍정적 의미가 있다. 이 같은 결과를 토대로 세대 별 교류의 사회적 의미를 논의하였으며, 세대교류 기회를 증진시킬 수 있도록 하는 방안에 대해 제언하였다.
