공동체의 투영을 목적으로 기록된 ‘목자들 이야기’ ― 누가복음 2장 8-14절을 중심으로 = The Story of Shepherds Recorded for the Purpose of Mirroring Luke’s Community Members: With a Focus on Luke 2:8-14

There are multifarious characters in the Lukan birth narrative. And most of them have names. There are, by the way, plural characters who were unnamed associated with the birth of Jesus. They are shepherds.
Why did Luke introduce them in the Jesus’ birth story? What is the purpose of Luke’s writing of the paragraph? This paper analyzes the Gospel of Luke regarding these questions and offers an answer from an explanation of the correlation between shepherds and Luke’s community members. In addition, I suggest a new approach to the interpretation of shepherds.
As a result, I have argued that the symbol of shepherds is not only the lowest, messiah implication but also messengers. As a mirroring process that appears between members of Luke’s community and shepherds of this story, Luke announced that they were directly involved in the news of the birth of Jesus and gave them a mission to deliver the news, just like shepherds.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

누가는 예수의 탄생 이야기를 다루면서 복수의 그리고 이름이 없는 등장인물을 등장시킨다. 그 인물들은 ‘목자들’이다. 누가는 ‘목자’라는 직업을 통해 예수와 다윗의 연결고리를 만들었고, 무명의 등장인물이라는 점을 통해 자신의 공동체와의 연결고리를 만들었다. 예수가 주인공인 이야기의 단순한 엑스트라가 아니라 예수와 관련된 소식, 즉 복음을 다른 이들에게 전하는 모습을 투영시킨 것이다. 누가는 목자들 이야기를 통해서 이스라엘이 고대해온 메시아 그리고 로마 황제에 필적할 만한 자로 예수를 기록하면서, 그런 예수와 관련된 소식을 전하는 자신의 공동체를 기술하고 있다. 이를 읽는 누가 공동체는, 혹은 이 말씀을 통해 교육받는 공동체는 복음 전파를 향한 강한 동기를 부여받게 될 것이다. 누가는 자신의 공동체가 가지고 있는 선교적 특성을 이 본문을 통해 강조하고자 했던 것으로 보인다.
