This study is a collection of ceramic kettles with engraving patterns in relief by studying figurativeness of kettles and embossed carving techniques in Goryeo and Joseon Dynasties and producing kettles with potter's wheel.
According to flow of the age, human dressing, eating and housing have changed and developed and changes in vessels related to them have been also necessary.
In particular, kettles among these vessels has a simple vessel for containing and storing food and drink and further a role of media to raise quality of life and to provide abundance in human relations.
Therefore, the researcher suggests new figurative form of vessel reflecting the contemporary people's tastes based on shape of traditional kettle and studies about various carving in relief techniques in white embossed-carving porcelain in Joseon dynasty and embossed-carving celadon porcelain in Goyeo Dynasty in order to use them for decorative techniques.
