니체에 있어 도덕은 진화하는가? = Does morality evolve in Nietzsche?

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this paper is to prove the problem of moral evolution in Darwin's view of the creation and change of good and evil in Nietzsche's On the Genealogy of Morality. This discussion examines the feasibility of morality, focusing on hypotheses based on the variation and fitness conditions of natural selection. The hypothesis is as follows. 1) If morality evolved, it is because of the variation of value caused by the difference between the power of the strong and the weak. 2) If morality has evolved, it is due to altruism of Heerdeninstinkt (group instinct). The former is supported by the evolutionary position that “Life gradually evolves” by the Likelihood Principle. The latter is supported by evolutionary theory that "human morality is evolved by altruism, the group selection” and “tit-for-tat” strategy based on the prisoner's dilemma. The conclusion drawn from this discussion is the possibility that the cooperation and fitness by the variation of good and evil and the altruistic propensity of Heerdeninstinkt (group instinct) have evolved into morality by natural selection.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 글은 니체의 「도덕의 계보」에 드러난 선과 악의 생성과 변화를 진화론의 관점에서 ‘도덕은 진화하는가?’라는 문제를 증명하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이 논의는 자연선택의 조건인‘변이(variation)’와 ‘적응도(fitness)’개념에 근거한 가설을 중심으로 도덕의 진화가능성을 고찰한다. 그 가설은 다음과 같다. 1) 도덕이 진화한 것이라면 강한 자와 약한 자의 힘의 차이에서 발생한 가치돌연변이에 의한 것이다. 2) 도덕이 진화한 것이라면 무리본능의 이타주의에 의한 것이다. 전자는 ‘개연성의 원칙(Likelihood Principle)’에 의해 “생명체는 점진적으로 진화한다.”는 진화론적 입장으로 지지된다. 후자는 “인간의 도덕성은 이타주의 즉, ‘군’선택에 의해 진화된다.”는 진화이론과 죄수의 딜레마에 근거한 ‘팃포탯(tit-for-tat, TFT)’전략에 의해 지지된다. 이 논의를 통해 도출되는 결론은 선과 악이라는 가치돌연변이와 무리본능의 이타주의 성향에 의한 협력과 적응이 자연선택에 의해 도덕으로 진화했을 가능성이다.
