In the middle and late of the Joseon(JlX) Dynasty, as Neo-Confucianism became common, the forest politics(Wt*iE&i13) that has characteristics of academic leaders lead the political world was appeared. Thus, each family and school and faction highly regarded their leader`s portrait as the meaning of unity and holding each other in check. Consequently, the leader`s portrait of each faction has a strong complicated cultural character which was superimposed and connected with meanings of discipline, ritual and politics. This is shown through that morethan 14 of posthumous portraits were painted six times during 200 years in Yubong Portrait Hall(*t) where Myeongjae Yunjeung who is the head of SoronU4 The Young Doctrine), retired and taught. The reason of Yunjeung`s posthumous portrait was copied was basically for its discoloration but the definite time of copying works was achieved on the best season of his descendant and his younger students started to enter the period of political activity and preserve their social-economic condition. Yubong Portrait Hall which places Yunjeung`s posthumous portraits and keepsakes was began as his posthumous portraits were placed in the Yubong Private School. Yuhong Portrait Hall simply kept a function just as a portrait hall to hum incense and respect placing portraits and keepsakes. And it had a function as semi-ritualistic memorial space for descendants and younger students.
