｢논어｣의 감정과학과 음악교육의 교차점 탐구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

음악의 본질은 감정의 표현에 있다. 그리고 그 표현은 ‘남’이 아닌 ‘나’를 표현하는 것에 중심을 두고 있다. 따라서 그것을 표현하는 주체인 예술가는 ‘나’에 대한 인식과 앎을 선행해야 한다. 이를 가르치는 교육자 또한 같은 과정을 선행해야 한다.
본 연구에서는 앞서 이야기한 음악의 본질과 같이 음악교육에서 표현의 중심이 되어야 하는 ‘나’를 놓치고 있는 현실, 본질보다 행위에만 머물러있는 현실을 본 연구자가 경험한 감정과학의 ‘나’ 성찰 사례를 통해 다시 한번 되돌아보고자 했다. 또한, 가르치는 방법과 기술에만 집중하고 있는 현실을 보완하고자 음악교육의 철학적 기초로 문화교차학적 관점인 감정과학을 제시하고자 했다.
이러한 목적을 토대로 본론에서는 논어의 감정과학을 네 가지 키워드로 고찰했다. 또한, 음악교육의 교차점을 탐구해 음악교육에서 활용가능한 철학적 성찰 방법인 <‘⼰’, ‘⼼’, ‘愛’, ‘學’>을 제안하고자 했다.
이를 통해 오늘의 음악교육을 성찰하고, 논어의 감정과학이라는 문화교차학적 관점을 담은 새로운 철학적 시각을 제시하고 음악교육의 본질에 대한 철학적 사유를 실천할 수 있었다.
앞으로 본 연구를 기점으로 음악교육 분야에서 감정과학의 철학적 성찰을 적용한 연구, 배움의 본질과 음악의 본질, 그리고 음악교육의 본질을 탐구해 스스로 사유하고 깨닫는 연구가 계속해서 이루어지길 제언하는 바이다. 이를 통해 ‘나’를 담은 음악 수업을 실천하는 철학적 기초가 탄탄한 음악교육자들이 학교 교육 현장에서 많은 활약을 펼치는 긍정적인 미래가 도래하길 기대하는 바이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The essence of music lies in the expression of feelings, with a central focus on expressing the ‘me’ rather than ‘others’. Accordingly, the artist who brings such expression to life must precede it with recognition and understanding of the ‘me’, and an educator who imparts this process must do.
This study revisits the current reality in music education, where the ‘me’ that should be at the core of expression is often overlooked, and where practice remains confined to the act of ‘doing’ rather than engaging with music’s deeper essence. It does so through the researcher’s personal introspective case of the ‘me’ experienced in the science of feelings. Furthermore, in order to compensate for the present state of overemphasis on teaching methods and techniques, this research proposes a cross-cultural(Xcultural) perspective namely, Confucius’s science of feelings as a philosophical foundation for music education.
With this goal in mind, the main body of the study examines Confucius’s science of feelings centered on Analects of Confucius through four key concepts. It then explores the intersection between music education and the science of feelings to propose <‘⼰’, ‘⼼’, ‘愛’, ‘學’> as a framework for philosophical reflection applicable to music education. Through this process, the study provides an opportunity to reflect on contemporary music education, proposes a new philosophical perspective grounded in the science of feelings, and engages in a hands-on philosophical inquiry into the essence of music education.
Building on this research, it is suggested that future studies in the field of music education continue to explore the essence of learning, the essence of music, and the essence of music education through philosophical reflection grounded in the science of feelings. Such research should encourage self-contemplation and internal realization. Through this process, it is hoped that a positive future will unfold one in which music educators with a strong philosophical foundation actively implement music lessons imbued with the ‘me’ and make meaningful contributions in school education settings.
