This is a case study in which the author criticized that the court of U.S. did not follow the rules of the evidence(beyond reasonable doubt, confrontation clause, brady rule, discretion abuse standard, sentencing guideline) in the economic espionage trials.

2009년 미국 산업스파이 재판에서 15년형의 선고를 받은 중국계 미국인 동판 그렉 청에 대한 항소심 판결문을 분석, 미국의 범정증거주의 관련 5가지 규칙들(합리적 의심의 여지없는 입증, 대질조항, 피고에게 유리한 증거 공개 의무, 재량권 남용 표준, 연방양형기준)이 재판 과정에서 제대로 지켜지지 않았음을 비판함
