코로나 시대 분열의 갈등을 넘어: 느 1:5-11에 나타난 “우리”의 “죄 동일시” 고백을 중심으로 = Beyond the political tension in the era of Covid-19: Exploring the theological significance of the first person plural voice “we” in Nehemiah 1:5-11

The chief aim of this article is to elucidate how the prayer in Nehemiah 1:5-11, especially the first person plural voice “we” has the practical im- plication for Korean churches who are embroiled in a conflicting tension between them. To begin with, this research seeks to show a concise over- view of the post-exilic period in relation to the time of Nehemiah. This study analyzes the literary structure of the prayer and its main point in Nehemiah 1:5-11. Particular emphasis is placed upon the frequent occur- rence of the plural voice “we” in the prayer that highlights Nehemiah’s identification of himself with guilty people. Finally this paper argues that the theological significance of the prayer in Nehemiah 1:5-11, especially the first person plural voice “we” has the implication for Korean Christians who are urged to tread in the footstep of the repentance of Nehemiah.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 코로나 시대에 극심한 분열로 몸살을 앓고 있는 한국 교회의 위 기를 해결하기 위한 열쇠로서 느헤미야의 기도에 집중한다. 느헤미야가 살 았던포로기후시대의상황은매우심각한분열의고통과관련이있다. 북 이스라엘 출신과 남 유다출신, 이스라엘에 남아있던 자들과 포로로 잡혀갔 던 자들, 사마리아 권위자들을 지지하는 자들과 반대하는 자들, 이방제의와 관습에 물든 자들과 유일신 사상을 지키려는 자들 간의 첨예한 갈등은 포로 기 후 공동체의 연합에 큰 걸림돌로 작용하였다. 특히 느헤미야서에 집중적 으로 나타나듯이, 성벽재건 추진을 방해하는 외부적 방해공작과 아울러, 빈 부격차에 따른 노동착취와 경제적 억압과 같은 내부의 사회적 갈등요인들은 포로귀환 공동체의 결속과 하나 됨을 위협하는 심각한 도전이 아닐 수 없었 다. 이런 갈등의 상황 속에서 느헤미야는 느 1:5-11에서 1인칭 복수형으로 등 장하는 “우리”라는 표현에 집중하며 기도한다. 1인칭 복수형 “우리”의 반복 을 통해 드러난 느헤미야의 기도의 특징은 포로기 후 공동체의 여러 가지 갈등을 해결하기 위한 첫 단추로서 “우리”의 죄 고백의 필요성을 인식시켜 준다. 이처럼 1인칭 복수형 “우리”의 표현을 통해 공동체의 문제를 자신이 탓으로 돌리는 “동일시”의 기도는 이사야서(6장; 63:15-64:12)와 다니엘서 (9:4-19)에도 특징적으로 등장한다. 그러므로 본 논문은 이사야와 다니엘의 기도와 함께 “우리”의 기도를 강조하는 느헤미야의 기도의 특징을 집중적으 로 분석한 뒤, 코로나 시대 분열의 갈등으로 혼란에 휩싸인 한국교회를 향해 하나님의 백성의 올바른 반응으로서의 “죄 동일시”의 기도의 필요성과 아울 러 그 함의점을 제시한다.
