조선총독부편(編)《조선어사전(朝鮮語辭典)》의 편찬 맥락에 대한 사전학적 고찰 = A Lexicographic Study on the Compilation Contexts of Joseoneosajeon(edition of Japanese Government-General of Korea)

The purpose of this study was to investigate the compilation contexts of Joseoneosajeon(edition of Japanese Government-General of Korea) by taking a lexicographic approach to its system and content. For that purpose, the study made an assumption that the changes to the system and content in Manuscript(1914), Manuscript (1918), and Joseoneosajeon(1920) reflected the procedures according to the intention of planning, which was to publish a bilingual dictionary, and demonstrated them based on the results of analyzing the dictionary structure. Chapter 2 demonstrated that the system and content of Joseoneosajeon had the nature of defining dictionary based on the typology of bilingual dictionaries and explained its compilation policy applied from the planning stage to the publication stage based on the compilation methodology of defining dictionaries. Chapter 3 analyzed its system and content and gave an explanation about its compilation contexts based on the analysis results. It was found that the dictionary was planned and published to promote the understanding of Joseon language by Japanese people regardless of whether there were definitions in the Korean.
