수호적 의미를 주제로 한 신변장신구디자인 연구 : 韓國符籍과 별자리기호를 중심으로 = (A) study on designing personal ornaments on the theme of guardian meaning : principally based on Korean charms and preference for constellations

국문 초록 (Abstract)

고대에서 현재, 그리고 미래에도 평안과 행복을 추구하려는 염원은 인간의 삶에 대한 영원한 주제이며 조형 활동의 중요한 요소로서 자리 잡고 있다.
사람들은 생활의 일상에서 이러한 소망을 구체적인 상징물로 만들어 그 뜻이 이루어지길 기원한다. 이러한 염원은 인류가 시작되는 시대부터 벽화라는 그림형식을 빌어 나타내기도 하고 부족이나 부락, 또는 논, 밭, 산, 바다, 들, 사람, 짐승들은 물론 해와 달, 하늘과 별 그리고 모든 식물에 이르기까지 평안, 장수, 화복, 건강 그리고 생활의 풍요로움을 기원하는 여러 가지 의식과 주술적 형태로 그 의미와 정서를 담게 되었다.
현대는 합리주의 사고와 과학정신의 발달로 인해 가치관의 혼돈과 정신과 물질, 인간과 자연, 의식과 무의식 사이에 무수한 장벽을 쌓아 놓았다. 이런 복잡한 상황 속에서 사람들은 더욱 원생적 본능과 정체성을 확인하려 하게 되고 자신을 보호하고 소망을 이루려는 염원은 더 절실하게 되었다.
한국부적과 서양의 별자리기호는 오랜 역사를 가지고 있으며 오늘날까지 우리의 생활에 존재하는 인류의 기층문화로, 염원이 이루어지길 바라는 수호적 의미의 대표적인 상징물이라 할 수 있다.
이에 본 연구는 한국부적과 별자리기호의 개념과 종류를 고찰하여, 현대인이 일반적으로 바라는 소망을 담고 있는 7가지의 한국부적을 선택하여 별자리기호 12가지와 결합한 장신구를 디자인하였으며, 전체적인 조형적 형태는 토속적이며 자연스러운 곡선미와 재질감의 고대 원시적 이미지를 표현하고자 한다.
또한 본 연구에서는 원시신앙에 내재되어있는 정신적 의미의 중요성과 수호적인 상징의 주제를 담아내고자 한다.

The wish of man to pursue peace in the transient life and
happiness in the future would be an eternal subject of philosophy in ancient times, in modern times, a s well a s in the future, serving a s an vital element of human formative activities.
Man hopes that his wish would be realized by concretely symbolizing it in his daily life. The wish of man began to be expressed at an early stage of human history in the painting form of mural and utilized as its incantational symbols praying for peace, longevity, fortune, health and abundance in life his tribe, village, paddy fields, upland fields, mountains, seas, fields, people, animals, the sun and the moon, stars, and plants.
Modern times bring about confusion of the values and innumerable barriers between mind and matter, man and nature, and consciousness and unconsciousness. In this context, man tries to confirm his own original nature and identity, thus urgently longing for the realization of his wishes and guard himself.
Korean charms and Western constellations have a long history, being a representative guardian symbol immanent in the human mind that prays for the realization of wish.
With this in view, this study focused in its objective on designing a personal ornament applying Korean charms and constellations, their implications and formativeness and groping for such guardian ornaments as can give vitality and abundance in life to moderns who wish to relieve their mental alienation and anxieties about the future amidst material civilization out of rational thinking and industrialization.
For that purpose, this study inquired into the concepts of Korean charms and constellations, created a personal ornament in combination of seven typical charms and twelve constellations along with its formative expression with unfinished natural curvaceousness and an ancient primitive image of the quality of material.
The present study emphasized in its work the implication and form of personal ornament by expressing the spiritual signification and guardian symbol immanent in primitive faith on the basis of Korean charms and Western constellations.
