This paper aims to examine organizational characteristics and performance of the Executive Agencies in Korea Focusing on attitude of staffs in the agency. Survey data were collected from a sample of 23 Executive Agencies in Korea, and analyzed using one-way ANOVA. we could find significant implications and suggestions as follows. First, organizational characteristics of high performance agency are business-oriented, affiliated one, middle-high class rank of the head, relatively big size, high financial independence, low relationship with policy-making, and high ratio of operation tasks and core budgets. Second, task characteristics of organization are more important than structural characteristics for making contribution to high performance. Therefore, it is to note that we consider first task characteristics of organization to select the candidate of the Executive Agency in the near future.
