성 역할 고정관념과 직장 내 성희롱 가해 경험 = Gender role stereotypes and perpetrating experiences of sexual harassment in the workplace

This study is based on the assumption that sexual harassment in our society is the product of gender discrimination and that gender discrimination is caused by stereotypes of gender roles. This study analyzes the actual sexual harassment experience compared to the existing sexual harassment studies. The logistic regression analysis is employed to examine the influence of the variables.

In addition, it was analyzed that the higher the proportion of women in the organization, the lower the number of sexual harassment cases. Based on these findings, a fundamental measure to mitigate gender role stereotypes and a culture of gender discrimination is needed for the realization of gender equality education and the prevention of sexual harassment.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 논문은 우리 사회에서 문제 되고 있는 성희롱이 ‘성차별의 산물’이며, 성차별은 성 역할 고정관념에서 기인한다는 것을 전제로, ‘성 역할 고정관념’이 성희롱 가해 행위에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 검증한다. 기존 성희롱 연구가 개념, 판례 분석, 인식 조사를 대상으로 진행된 것에 비해 이 연구는 실제 성희롱 가해 경험을 분석한다. 한국형사정책연구원에서 실시한 성희롱 실태분석과 형사 정책적 대응방안 연구데이터를 활용하였으며, 로지스틱 회귀분석을 통해 변수별 영향력을 검증하였다. 연구 결과, 성 역할 고정관념에 대한 태도가 수용적이고, 조직 내 비정규직 비율이 높고, 여성일수록 성희롱 가해 행위 경험이 증가하는 것으로 나타났으며, 조직 내 여성비율이 높은 회사일수록 성희롱 가해 행위가 낮아지는 것으로 발견되었다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 성 역할 고정관념을 완화시킬 수 있는 근본적인 대책과 올바른 성 인식을 갖기 위한 양성평등교육의 개선이 필요하며, 성희롱 발생의 사전적 예방을 위해 성차별적 조직문화 개선의 필요성을 강조하였다.
