논문 : 광양항의 국제운송구조와 수출물동량 결정요인 - 패널중력모형과 패널 FMOLS의 적용 - = International Transport Structure and Determinants of Export Trading Volume in the Gwangyang Port - Application the Panel Gravity Model and Panel FMOLS -

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 광양항의 주요 교역대상국의 국제운송구조를 파악한 후 광양항 수출물동량의 결정요인을 패널중력모형과 패널 FMOLS를 이용하여 분석하였다. 분석결과 상대국의 시장규모, 한국의 국내총생산 규모, 해운경기 변수는 수출물동량에 정의 효과, 상대국과의 거리와 HRCI변수는 수출물동량에 부의 효과를 주는 것으로 분석되었다. Hausman 검정 결과 오차항과 설명변수 간에 상관관계가 존재하는 것으로 나타나 고정효과모형의 추정이 타당함을 알 수 있었다. 또한 전향적 이동회귀 분석 결과 상대국의 소득변수는 시간의 흐름에 따라 수출물동량에 미치는 영향이 감소하고, HRCI, 해운경기, 한국의 국내총생산은 영향력이 점차 확대되어가고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 FMOLS 분석결과 도입된 변수들이 이론적 부호와 일치하고 통계적으로도 유의성을 확보한 것으로 나타났다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The paper introduces a panel gravity model and panel Fully Modified OLS (FMOLS) to analyze the determinants of export trading volume in the Gwangyang port from 2002 to 2012. The gravity model includes variables for export trading volume, GDP of trading partners (CGDP), Korean GDP (KGDP), the distances between Korea and each trade partners, Baltic Dry Index (BDI) and the Howe Robinson Container Index (HRCI). Next, the Hausman test is employed to determine whether random effects or fixed effects estimation is more appropriate. This test examines the null hypothesis that unobserved omitted factors are correlated with the model``s explanatory variables. As such, fixed effect estimation was founded to be suitable for this paper``s model due to the rejection of the null hypothesis. An empirical analysis of the gravity model shows CGDP, KGDP and BDI have positive effects. Whereas, HRCI have negative effects. In addition, the results from the panel FMOLS tests show that export trading volume has a negative relationship with the HRCI.
