This study aims to present the process of conceptualizing empathy in order to present the elements and dimensions of empathy that should be emphasized in moral education. The conceptualization of empathy does not aim to derive a single, unified concept of empathy, but rather to reveal the various dimensions and elements of empathy. Through this conceptualization of empathy, this study would find the various meanings and aspects of the concept of empathy, understand the criticism of empathy on that basis, and on the other hand, present the elements and direction of empathy for moral education. This study suggests that empathy is not a narrow, passive and instinctive emotion, but rather suggeststs the possibility that empathy can be wide and active for moral behavior and moral life. And also, this study suggests that the cognitive aspect of empathy for moral practice and the need for emotion regulation ability and also emphasize the possibility of developing empathy through education.
