Korean proverbs on the filial piety have great educational significations. As our all proverbs have in its own way educational significance, proverbs on the filial piety were reflective of our traditional values overflow prominent educational meanings. It is said in a legend that all proverbs by a short sentence reflects life culture of the mass of people. Specially, proverbs have condense and laconic brevity form and contain for the most part brand-new popular lifes. Our proverbs on the filial piety not so much in terms of quantity present specific character of Korean filial piety cultures. A desirable the image of an ideal human being of Korea in traditional ages is filial son, filial daughter, dutiful daughter-in-law with devotion. A good son will make a good citizen. This presents that our ancestors had been recognized to basic virtuous deeds filial piety keeping in contact with loyalty. It is not too much to say that our filial piety in the traditional society is nearly all of moral education. It is not only the principle discipling everyday life but also the hard core of common values to all peoples in the Confucianism cultural area. Because, the filial piety reflect the spirit of the times, the historical minds, the nation`s way of the thinking. The filial piety is human`s reason human behave like a human being with normal forms, worship ancestor above, the foundation of the virtue, and the criterion of the behaviour, propriety and love with the righteous the upper and lower parts, left and right. The filial piety to our ancestors were the philosophy of their lifes, indicated and disciplined to humane in the life base. Our proverbs on the filial piety were respectful to one`s elders. This is not one-sided moral system coercing service that children are obedient to parents unconditionally. It is gratitude for parental love toward youngsters, heartwarming mind and reasonable reward to taken love.
