Purpose: In this study, we aimed to investigate the impact of fraction vocabulary instruction using graphic organizers on the understanding of fraction concepts among students with math learning disabilities. Method: To this end, a fifth-grade student with a math learning disability was selected as the study's subject. Nine target vocabulary words were chosen by analyzing fractions in the 2015 curriculum. Subsequently, a total of 18 fraction vocabulary instruction programs, comprising “vocabulary definition and application programs” and “concept understanding programs” were developed based on concept map graphic organizers. Results: Firstly, fraction vocabulary instruction using graphic organizers enhanced the understanding of fraction concepts for students with math learning disabilities. Secondly, the positive effects of this instruction persisted even after the intervention concluded. Conclusion and Discussion: These results suggest that fraction vocabulary instruction using graphic organizers effectively improves the understanding of fraction concepts among students with math learning disabilities. Consequently, fraction vocabulary instruction can be considered an effective method for enhancing comprehension of fraction concepts.
