일제강점기 전북 지역 한글보급운동의 실태 및 특징 연구 - 『동아일보』와 『조선일보』를 중심으로 = A Study on the Actual conditions and characteristics of the Hangeul Dissemination Movement in Jeonbuk region during the Japanese Colonial Period -Focusing on Donga-Ilbo and Chosun-Ilbo

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 일제강점기 『동아일보』, 『조선일보』에 나타난 전북 지역 한글보급운동의 실태 및 특징을 밝히고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위해서 『동아일보』와 『조선일보』 한글보급운동의 일반적인 특징을 살피고, 이를 바탕으로 『동아일보』와 『조선일보』 기사에 나타난 전북 지역 한글보급운동의 실태 및 특징을 분석하였다.
분석의 결과, 전북 지역 한글보급운동은 총 23회 시행되었으며, ‘강연식’과 ‘멘토링식’의 방식으로 한글보급운동이 시행되었음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 분석을 통해 전북 지역 한글보급운동은 다음과 같은 특징이 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.
첫째 시행 횟수가 적고 특정 시기에 집중되었다는 점에서 ‘편중성’이 있다. 둘째 지방이라는 한계로 인해 행정적·재정적 지원이 미흡하였다는 점에서 ‘지역적 한계성’이 있다. 셋째 이러한 한계 극복의 일환으로서 상향식 한글보급운동을 시행했다는 점에서 ‘방식의 다양성’이 있다.
결론적으로 전북 지역 한글보급운동의 실태 및 특징을 밝히고자 했던 본 연구는 전북 지역 한글보급운동을 살펴보는 계기가 되었으며, 한글보급운동의 지역별 특수성을 연구하는 데 이론적 토대를 마련했다는 점에서 의의가 있다고 할 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to clarify the actual conditions and characteristics of the Hangeul Dissemination Movement in Jeonbuk region, that appeared in the Donga-Ilbo and Chosun-Ilbo in Japanese colonial period.
For this purpose I identified the general characteristics of the Donga-Ilbo and Chosun-Ilbo Hangul Dissemination Movement, and based on this, I analyzed the actual conditions and characteristics of the Hangul Disseminationn Movement in Jeonbuk region in the Donga-Ilbo and Chosun-Ilbo articles.
In this analysis, I identified that the Hangeul Dissemination Movement in Jeonbuk region was implemented total 23 times, and the Hangeul Dissemination Movement was implemented through the ‘lecture-type’ and ‘mentoring-type’ methods. In addition, through the analysis, it was confirmed that the Hangeul Dissemination Movement in Jeonbuk region had the following characteristics.
First, there is a ‘partiality’ in that the number of implementations is small and there is concentrated on a specific period. Second, there is a ‘regional limitation’ in that administrative and financial support was insufficient due to the limitation of the province. Third, as part of overcoming these limitations, there is a ‘diversity of methods’ in that it has impleminted a bottom-up Hangeul Dissemination Movement.
In conclusion, this study, which was intended to reveal the actual conditions and characteristics of the Hangeul Dissemination Movement in Jeonbuk region, served as an opportunity to examine the Hangeul Dissemination Movement in Jeonbuk region. And it can be said to be significant in that it has laid a theoretical foundation for studying the regional specificity of the Hangeul Dissemination Movement.
