미술치료 관점에서 본 화가 이중섭의 생애사 연구 : 최열의 평전을 기반으로 = A Study on the Life History of Lee Jung-seop from the Perspective of Art Therapy : based on Choi Yeol's biography

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 화가 이중섭의 삶의 경험을 미술치료적 관점으로 살펴보는 데 있다. 이를 위해최열(2014)의 평전을 토대로 만델바움(1973)이 제시한 삶의 영역, 전환점, 적응의 순서로 분석하고, 문헌 자료를 인용하였다. 이중섭의 삶의 영역은 기질적인 취약성과 민족의 암흑기에도불구하고 유복한 가정환경 속에서 온정적으로 양육되었고, 유학을 통해 화가로서의 잠재력을다지며 건장한 청년으로 성장하였다. 그리고 중요 대상과 만남, 사랑, 이별을 통해 다양한 정서를 경험하였고, 적색 공포, 가족과 분리는 심리적 취약성을 촉발하는 원인이 되었다. 전환점은지인과 만남을 통해 삶의 위기를 극복할 수 있었지만, 6 25전쟁, 자유로운 작품 활동을 저해하는 암시, 사기 사건, 개인전 실패로 인해 이상행동이 나타났다. 반면 이중섭은 우리나라 최초의미술치료 임상자였고, 치료적 예후도 좋았다. 이에 삶의 영역과 전환점을 통한 적응을 살펴본결과, 이중섭은 자신감 있게 유년기를 보냈지만, 의존적 태도, 부정, 퇴행, 완벽주의, 왜골스러운 태도가 삶 전체에 나타났다. 그리고 생존과 같은 피난 생활 속에도 승화를 통한 작품 활동으로, 억압된 정서를 조절하며 자기 치유를 하였다. 그러나 삶을 재기하고자 강행했던 개인전과 감정 조절의 어려움으로 인한 정신증 그리고 내과적 소인으로 인해 사망에 이르게 되었다.
이에 본 연구는 이중섭의 생애사를 통해 개인과 환경 사이의 상호작용이 작품에 미치는 과정과 심리적 경험을 드러낸 것에 의의가 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to examine the life experiences of painter, Lee Jung-seop from an Art Therapy perspective. To this end, based on Choi Yeol (2014)'s biography, his life, turning points, and adaptation suggested by Mandelbaum (1973) were analyzed, and literature data were cited. Despite a turbulent national era, Lee was raised in a wealthy family and pursued his vision as an artist through overseas studies. Emotional experiences, especially related to family separation, triggered psychological vulnerabilities. As a turning point, the crisis of his life could be overcome through meetings with acquaintances, but his abnormal behavior appeared following the Korean War, including hindrances to free work activities, fraud cases, and the failure of individual exhibitions. In particular, Lee Jung-seop was the first art therapy clinician in Korea, and the therapeutic prognosis was good. Accordingly, as a result of examining adaptation through the domain and turning points of his life, Lee Jung-seop spent his childhood confidently, but his dependent attitude, denial, regression, perfectionism, and isolated attitude appeared throughout his life. Even during evacuation and survival, he managed to self-heal by controlling suppressed emotions through work activities and sublimation. Nevertheless, psychosis and medical predisposition caused by personal exhibitions and difficulties in controlling emotions led to death. This study is meaningful in revealing the psychological experiences of the interaction between individuals and the environment in the work throughout Lee Jung-seop's life history.
