20대 청년의 젠더갈등 인식에 대한 질적 연구: 남녀 차이를 중심으로 = A Qualitative Study on Perception of Gender Conflicts: Focusing on Young Adults in Their Twenties

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 한국의 남녀 20대의 젠더갈등 인식과 차이를 알아보는 것이다. 이를 위해 20대 남녀 14명을 대상으로 집단심층면접을 실시하고, 면접내용을 반복적 비교 분석법으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 남성과 여성의 젠더갈등의 양상, 원인, 영향과 해결책에 대한 인식에 공통점과 차이점이 나타났다. 공통적으로는 한국의 젠더갈등이 심각하다고 인식하고 있었으며, 원인으로 남녀에게 사회적으로 부여되는 역할의 차이와 서로에 대한 공감과 이해 부족, 제한된 자원과 지나친 경쟁으로 인한 분노, 한국 문화와 사회의 특성을 지적하였고, 해결을 위해 개인의 비판적이고 합리적인 태도와 체계적 접근의 필요성 등을 지적하였다. 이에 비해 차이점은 주로 젠더갈등의 원인에서 나타났다. 여성은 젠더갈등의 유발요인으로 여성에 대한 차별, 사회적 지위 및 경제적 지위의 차이 등을, 남성은 여성의 인권과 지위 향상을 지적하였다. 본 연구는 20대 남녀의 젠더갈등에 대한 인식과 남녀차이를 면밀하게 탐색했다는 점에 의의가 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this article is to investigate how South Korean men and women in their twenties perceive gender conflicts and to identify any differences in these perceptions between genders. Focus group interviews were conducted with 14 participants, and the content was analyzed using constant comparison method. The findings revealed both commonalities and differences in how men and women perceive the manifestations, causes, impacts, and solutions of gender conflicts. Both genders commonly acknowledged that gender conflicts in South Korea are perceived as severe. Commonly cited causes included differences in gender role socialization between men and women, lack of mutual empathy and understanding, the negative influence of online media, anger arising from limited resources and intense competition, and the specific characteristics of South Korean culture and society. Differences appeared to shape the causes of gender conflicts. Specifically, women identified factors such as discrimination and differences in social and economic status, while men pointed to the improvement of women’s rights and status. This study is significant, as it closely explores the perceptions of gender conflict and the differences between men and women in their twenties.
