인터페이스 환경에서의 이모티콘 디자인에 관한 연구 - 플래시콘을 중심으로 - = The research regarding the e-m-o-ti-con design from interface environment - the flash cone in the center -

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이모티콘은 감정(Emoticon)과 아이콘(Icon)의 합성어로, 컴퓨터 키보드를 통해 구현할 수 있는 문자, 기호, 숫자들의 조합으로 표현되며 최근 웹상에서 메신저, 이동전화의 문자 서비스 사용시 자신의 감정이나 의사표현, 특정 사물묘사를 글자대신 기호로 사용되는 새로운 의사소통의 수단으로, 컴퓨터매개통신(CMC) 이용자들의 개발에 의해 만들어진 전자적인 비언어적 표현 수단이다. 또한 이모티콘은 언어의 빠른 정보전달, 문자나 기호의 함축적 표현, 사용자간의 친밀감 조성, 감정표현과 다양한 언어구사가 가능하다는 특징을 가지고 있다. 이모티콘은 대부분 사이버(cyber) 언어를 자연스럽게 익히고 사용해온 10~30대 초반의 젊은 층에서 이동전화의 문자서비스나 메신저를 이용하여 많이 사용되어지고 있다. 이모티콘 중 키보드상의 키와 기호의 조합으로 이루어진 문자 이모티콘과 사람의 얼굴 표정을 이미지화한 이미지 이모티콘 등은 이동통신사와 메신저의 웹 사이트에서 대부분 무료로 제공되고 있어 많이 사용되어지고 있으나, 이런 평면적인 이모티콘에서 동작성과 청각적 요소를 가미한 입체적 이모티콘인 플래시콘으로 이어지고 있으며, 플래시콘은 현재 유료로 제공되어 있어 경제적인 부담은 있으나 기존에 사용했던 이미지보다 시각적인 효과가 뛰어나 많은 인기를 얻고 있다. 이모티콘은 사용자로 하여금 자신의 감정을 보다 적극적으로 표현할 수 있는 용이성뿐만 아니라 감정표현을 유머러스하게 희화하여 즐거움과 감동을 선사한다. 특히 감정표현에 서툰 사람들에게는 자신의 감정표현의 대변자 역할 또한 수행하고 있다. 이모티콘은 이처럼 웹을 사용하는 사람들과 밀접한 관련을 맺으며 자연스런 감정표현의 도구로서 사용되어지고 있으며, 여기에 율동성 주는 웹 프로그램인 플래시를 결합하여 플래시콘으로 발전되어, 더 나아가 생활전반 즉, 사회/경제/문화 등과도 결합하여 플래시콘에 전자상거래를 포함한 ``기프티콘(gifticon)``으로 그 영역이 확대하고 있다. 이에 본 연구자는 플래시콘의 경제적 비용 부담을 경감하고자 플래시콘 저작도구 보급을 통해 개인의 생각과 독특함을 담아 직접 제작하여 송신하는 방안, 시각적 커뮤니케이션에 국한하지 않고 청각적 커뮤니케이션을 강화하여 감정표현의 효과를 증진시키는 멀티미디어콘화, 플래시콘에 전자상거래가 결합된 ``기프티콘(gifticon)``에 대한 실물 상품의 플래시콘 디자인 연구방안을 제시를 하고자 하였다.
