The purpose of this study was to evaluate the physical properties of he repeatedly used non-precious matal alloy, Ticonium Premium 100.
In this experiment, the values of tensile strength, percentage of elongation, and hardness were measured, and compared with microstructure after the first casting, thereafter the second, and third recasting.
The results were as follows:
As the remelting was continued, hardness number was decreased. And the mean value of hardness number was 45.22±3.77㎏/㎟ at the 3rd remelting.
As the remelting was continued, tensile strength was decreased while percentage of elongation was increased. the mean value of tensile strength was 31.82±7.28㎏/㎟ and that of percentage of elongation was 5.5% at the third remelting.
The microstructure of the lst and the 2nd remelted specimen showed typical dendrite, but that of 3rd remelted specimen showed irregular dendrite and the grains became coarse.
