In this paper the focus will be placed on the PDR systems for mutual gains in the globalizing digital economy. To make sustainable competitive advantage in the global information era, actors must restructure PDR systems to acquire mutual gains and flexibility. They should develop creative humanware system, team based network organization and high performance workplace practices in the software system, and flexible machines in the hardware system. The humanware system converts human resources into creative resources by cultivating workers’ mindset and abilities that are intangible assets. The software and hardware systems can be continuously improved and used efficiently by workers who have learning, creative and cooperative minds. The PDR systems should be balanced because the production system is heavily influenced by the distribution and rule-making systems through the mindset of the humanware system. Well-developed and balanced PDR systems will generate mutual gains, knowledge-based workers, real flexibility and competence in response to the rapidly changing environment.
