프랑스어 생략형 속담구조에 대한 언어학적 소고 = Some Remarks on the Elliptic Proverbial Structures of French Language

The language is a phenomenon of sign which represents the traditional sociocultural properties of every people, and we can take the proverbial expression as its representative form. The proverb contains among others a cultural heritage of the popular class and some particular linguistic characteristics besides. By bringing to a focus the brevity, one of these characteristics, we tried at first to distinguish the stucture types of French elliptic proverb and then to analyze their semantico-stylistic characteristics. We discerned, as typical elliptic structures of the proverb, the elliptic structures of the standard sentence, that is, subject elliptic structure, verb elliptic structure and that of sujet+verb, and also the zero article(or bare noun phrase) structure and the structure of qui without antecedent. We noticed at the same time that among them the two latter ones get a higher distribution ratio and that almost all these structures are formed in binary structure. We can add that they possess as formal characters the fixedness and the anacoluthon which are the archaic tracks. As regards the semantico-stylistic aspect, the elliptic proverbial structures increase the mnemonic ease with their binary structure, strengthen the genericity and the argumentative function, and activate the stylistically aesthetic value. As a result, pragmatically they can manage to perform effectively the didactic function and the satiric function of proverb.
