20세기 디자인에서의 재료로 표현되는 제품 조형 연구 = A Study on the form of products by material in 20c design

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

We live with relate to various products. The products that were connected a life; those were constructed by the effect of society, culture and technology. The form of product reflects society, culture, technology and specificities. The form of product also relates closely to material which composes a product. We find that material was one of the important elements to change the form in history of 20C design. A pure material - wood, glass and metal- sometimes expressed culture and ideology of that times with the development of technology. And sometimes it had made the form of products according to the logic of capitalism to increase profits. As the expression of form was based on which material was used, the men have made an effort to develop the method of manufacturing and have found new materials and have also created the structure and the formative beauty through each pure materials. Especially many chemists had made immense new material with the plastic resin that the development of chemical brought us. And it had influence on the method of making a design form. Improving the plastic resin could be made the various colors which the manufactured goods were covered with. It made us know that the different color made the different formative beauty. And we know it makes the products be new and sensitive, various. In other words, it separates old and new. So, we aim at studying how design form was represented by material and then it at confirming the useful possibility of material as the advanced element for the formative beauty.
