A glass-ceramic bonding material was prepared from pure chemicals in order to study its effects of strength of the abrasive specimens made of GC grains. The glass-ceramic bonding meterial strengthened all specimens three times higher than the vitrified bonding material which was prepared from Korean natural resources. It is assumed that the strengthening effect of the glass-ceramic bonding material on GC grain abrasive specimens is attributed to the lower thermal expansion coefficient of the glass-ceramic bonding material compared with the vitrified bonding material.
