소년비행 및 범죄 예방을 위한 학교 내 보호관찰 (School-Based Probation)의 도입에 대한 검토 = A Review on the Introduction of School-Based Probation for the Prevention of Juvenile Delinquency and Crime

The researches of juveniles should involve that of their surroundings. In particular, studies for juvenile offenders who are students have to consider multiple characteristics of juvenile, as juveniles and students. When probationers go back to school after the life of correctional facilities, their delinquent characteristics would be controled just by staying in school because school functions as a controller of crime in some sense. However, the probationers could easily commit a crime again from the potential factors school has. School should play a role to control the delinquent nature of probationers and delinquent students and try to protect the rest of students in order not to be affected by juvenile offenders or delinquent students for the safer schooling. To accomplish the goal, the Institution of Probation should be closely connected to the school system. Probation Officers have to help the juvenile offenders adopted well toe the school life and not involved to the crimes, and teachers should provide information through close contact to the probationers. In this respect, building up specialities in probation services is significant and introduction of School-Based Probation is needed for the speciality.
