This research aims to make a close inquiry on the characteristics of color yellow and quantify this special color used in 6 trends of paintings such as the, Renaissance, Baroque, Romanticism, Impressionism, Abstraction and Surrealism in a scientific way to offer color tones of pallette that can be applied to modern design. When we synthesize the characteristics of these 6 age of paintings and analyze them, we can see that during the Impressionism, Abstraction and Surrealism period, the paintings had a superior proportion of clear and strong colors, and although the distribution proportion is low, whitish & pale colors were the next most frequently displayed colors after clear & strong colors. However, during the Renaissance, Baroque and Romanticism period, dull colors were mostly used among all the other colors. Clear & strong, whitish & pale colors were used least frequently during the period of Romanticism, Baroque and Renaissance period, but as it came to modern society from those old times, the proportion of their use has showed a rapid increase. This clearly shows that as time goes by the distribution of bright and strong color yellow, is becoming large. After analyzing monochrome, we carried out analysis on the arrangement of colors of the top five colors including Y. This is a process of coming up with a color palette. Based on the results of the frequency analysis of epithet images, we offered color palettes that are ``elegant’ for Renaissance(30colors),’general’ for Baroque(16colors), ’natural’ for Romanticism(29colors) and Impressionism( 45colors), ’dynamic’ for Abstractionism(29colors) and Surrealism(36colors) period.
