로렌 차일드(Lauren Child)의 그림책 분석 : 포스트모던적 특성을 중심으로 = Lauren Child's picture books: An analysis focusing on post-modern characteristics

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 현재의 시대사조를 잘 반영하고 있는 로렌 차일드의 그림책을 대상으로 포스트모던적 특성을 탐색한 것이다. 분석대상 그림책은 로렌 차일드의 『나도 내방이 있으면 좋겠어』와 『넌 어느 별에 살고 있니?』로서, 파라텍스트의 비전통적 방식, 그림매체의 다양성, 상호텍스트성, 글과 그림의 비정형성, 자기 참조성, 놀이성 등의 6가지 포스트모던적 특성을 분석틀로 이용하였다. 그 결과 이 그림책들은 이런 포스트모던적 특성을 다양하게 보여주었는데 그 중에서도, 상호텍스트성이 두드러지게 나타났다. 이들 독특한 기법들을 다양하게 활용한 이런 그림책들은 새롭고 다양한 교육 자료로 활용될 수 있음을 논의를 통해 제안하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to analyze the post-modern characteristics of Lauren Child's picture books by focusing on how her work reflects the contemporary spirit of post-modernism. 『Clarice Bean That's Me』 and 『What Planet Are From Clarice Bean?』 are the two picture books selected for this study. Six kinds of post-modern characteristics such as the nontraditional ways of using paratexts, varieties of picture medium, intertextuality, atypicalities of text and image, self-referentiality and playfulness were used as the analysis category system. The study demonstrates how these picture books incorporate a wide variety of post-modern characteristics. Intertextuality is especially significant. This analysis also discusses Lauren Child's use of various unique techniques, suggesting that her work represents a distinct form of the standard picture book.
