East Asian countries were a highly developed society with rituals and righteous civilizations in history, and Confucianism was the core and representative society of East Asian civilization. When East Asian society became a subordinate state of Western powers, its traditional culture also declined and Confucianism withdrew from its dominant position. The 20th century was a century when East Asian sorrow and joy were mixed, and East Asian civilization was forged and reborn. Among them, exposure to the essence of Confucianism and its impact on East Asians played a very important role.
Confucianism has three points in promoting East Asian revival. First, it is a spirit of self-improvement and patience. A strong sense of social responsibility and an indomitable Confucian spirit permeated the character of East Asians, arising in the moment of poverty and national crisis. Second, it is a spirit of mercy, love, harmony, devotion and joy. Starting from the spirit of compassion and love for the people, the Confucian spirit advocates social peace and interpersonal harmony, pursues stability and reunification of the state and nation, and opposes unfair war, harassment, and supremacy between states. Third, it is a moral and inclusive spirit. This article attempts to explore these areas.
