제국-식민지 체제의 생명정치, 비체(卑體)의 표상들 = 김사량의 문학작품을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 글은 김사량의 문학작품에 나타난 가난하고 궁핍한 자들의 문학적 표상을 검토하는 것을 통해 식민지 후반 전시총동원체제기 제국-식민지 체제의 ‘생명정치’에 대해 고찰하였다. 김사량의 문학작품에 나타난 식민지 조선 내 가난하고 척박한 삶을 살아가는 토막민과 화전민은 전시총동원체제기 일하지 않는/일할 수 없는 자들로, 자신의 존재의 이유를 갖지 못한 자들이다. 가치 있는 삶(비오스 bios)을 살지 못하는 생명 그 자체(조에z..)로서의 그들의 존재는 제국-식민지 체제가 인간의 생명을 어떻게 배제하면서 동시에 포섭하고 있는지를 보여준다. 한편, 내지 일본 이주 조선인들은 인종적, 언어적 경계 위에 위치하면서 동시에 그러한 인종적, 언어적 경계로부터 내몰린 자들이다. 조선인으로서 자신을 부인 하고 일본인임을 끊임없이 역설하는 혼혈인의 모습이나, 의미를 알 수 없는 말을 중얼거리면서 자신의 존재 이유를 찾고 있는 ‘지기미’의 모습 속에는 배제되고 내몰린 존재들의 짙은 그림자가 투영되어 있다. 이런 점에서 김사량의 문학작품에 나타난 인물들은 모두 제국-식민지 체제가 추방한 ‘비체(卑體; abject)’들이다. 신체화된 제국-식민지 체제가 자신의 주체성을 확립하는 과정을 아브젝시옹(abjection)으로 이해했을 때, 그러한 아브젝시옹의 과정 속에서 추방된 아브젝트들은 제국-식민지 체제의 생명정치가 만들어내는 경계를 끊임없이 위협하는 존재이자, 결국 그러한 제국-식민지 체제의 공백과 균열의 지점을 폭로하는 존재들인 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This writing considered the ‘bio-politique’ under the imperial-colonial system of wartime forced mobilization during the late colonial times through examination on the literary representation of the poor and needy shown in Kim Sa ryang"s literary work. Shanty town inhabitants and slash-and-burn farmers who live a poor and barren life in colonized Korea shown in Kim, Sa ryang literary work"s are the people who cannot have the reasons for their existence as the ones who do not work/cannot work under the system of wartime forced mobilization. Their existence as a life itself (z??) who are not able to live a valuable life(bios) shows how the imperial-colonial system concurrently excludes and embraces human life. Meanwhile, Korean people who emigrated to the inland of Japan are the people positioned on the racial and linguistic barrier, and are the ones who were forced out of the barrier at the same time. In the appearance of ‘Jigimi’ expunging himself as a Korean and continuously emphasizing that he is a Japanese or seeking the reason for his existence muttering unknowable words, a deep shadow of beings who are excluded and driven. In this sense, characters appeared in Kim Sa ryang’ literary work are all the ‘abjects’ that the imperial-colonial system banished. When understanding the process that embodied the imperial-colonial system establishes its identity, abjects banished out of the process of such abjection are the beings threatening the barrier that bio-politique of the imperial-colonial system creates and the ones who reveal the point of vacuum and crack of such imperial-colonial system system after all.
