The fourth anniversary of the death of the Chinese Revolutionary leader, Dr. Sun Yat-sen, was celebrated in Peking on March 12 with unusual fervour. Four years ago he died three days after leaving the hospital in which an operation had been performed on him, and two days later his remains were borne through the streets enclosed in a cheap coffin carried by a nondescript and rather ragamuffin group of followers, and with very little in the demeanour of either the straggling group who formed the cortege or of the small groups, the very small groups, who here and there gathered to see the cortege pass, to indicate that any specially noted figure was being carried to the Central Park, where was to lie in state for a fortnight.
