This study aims to investigate into the preference of senile women in their 50`s or 70`s for the materials of their house dresses and to compare and analyze the current state of the women`s propensities to purchase their clothes, with a view to provide basic data for the formation of the silver market where such clothes as fully reflect the individuality and tastes of the purchasers are traded. 45.3% of senescent women have dry type skin and their skin generally has a normal skin color but suffers from hyperchromatosis, which is caused by an increase in melanin pigment. For most respondents, sensitive skin regions include their face and neck. When an investigation is made into senescent women`s favorite house dresses according to their skin types and favorite materials of the dresses, it is found that the women prefer and actually wear house dresses made of cotton fiber irrespective of their skin types. The reasons why they select a material of home dresses include that it is good for their skin, quickly absorbs sweats, and it feels soft to the touch with the skin. Senescent women prefer such house dresses as are made of natural materials, so in the future it will be necessary to develop functional materials, which have the strengths of both natural materials and synthetic materials.
