영어 듣기, 말하기 평가 방법 = (A) study of listening and speaking tests in english

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Strevens considers many conventional tests inapporopriate, mysterious, unreal, subjective, and unstructured. Certainly, this has been also our own impression of many tests we have had to endure. Many English teachers in Korea have usually constructed such tests familiar to them without asking themselves the basic questions of tests; for example, why to test, what to test, and how to test. Thus it is natural that we Englist teachers should try to find out appropriate and effective techniques in language testing.
The purpose of this study is to propose effctive techniques of measuring listening and speaking skills as well as teaching them, which might contribute to the improvement of languae teaching and learning. A lot of testing papers and questionaires are analyzed on th basis of the principles and technique of language testing. The results show that there remain many problems in language testing for th secondary school students. Some of the major problems are like th following :
1) thest items of reading and writing are unreasonably overemphasized than those of listening and speaking ; 20 listening and speaking tests are exclusively administered by 'paper and pencil tests'; and 3) listening and speaking tests are not dealt with in the College Entrance Preliminary Tests.
Therefore, some guidelines of effective techniques to be used when teaching and testing listening and speaking skills are presented, and a small scale experiment is also carried out in order verify if the result of this experiment can be supported as an evidence. The result of this experiment shows that the students of the experimental group have better scores than those of the control group in measuring listening and speaking tests. Thus this experiment proves to be arguing for the techniques presented in this study.
