This study explored issues in the area of expression within the framework of the 2022 revised curriculum and the separation of Physical Education for first and second grades in elementary school. The results highlighted several key issues. First, there is the issue of ensuring educational stability through securing adequate class hours for the expression area. Second, there is the issue of the feasibility of teaching basic movement expression as an achievement standard for lower grades. Third, there is the issue of developing teaching and learning strategies in the area of expression that focus on play experiences. Fourth, there is the issue of developing a curriculum that can incorporate various examples of physical activities. The new curriculum includes modern expressive activities for upper grades, such as line dancing, dance sports, and street dance. These time-intensive activities might be better suited if realigned from Grades 3-4 to lower grades.
