수학 예비교사의 이중 단절 극복을 위한 함수 대학교재 개선 방안 = Some Suggestions of Revising the University Textbook to Overcome the Double Discontinuity of Pre-Service Mathematics Teachers on Functions

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 수학 예비교사들이 겪는 이중 단절을 극복할 수 있는 방안을 대학교재 개선에서 찾기 위해 함수 개념에서 예비교사들이 가질 수 있는 이중 단절 내용을 알아보고, 현재의 학교수학과 대학수학 교재를 비교하여, 예비교사 교육의 교재 개선 방안을 제안하였다. 함수는 중·고·대학에서 각기 다른 내용으로 정의하고 있기 때문에 예비교사들은 대학수학의 정의가 학교수학의 정의를 어떻게 포괄하는지, 왜 정의가 다를 수밖에 없는지 등에 대한 이해가 필요하다. 학교수학의 교과서는 학생들에게 조작적 접근의 개념 설명과 다양한 과제, 여러 가지 측면의 동기 유발을 하고 있지만, 대학 교재에서는 구조적 접근의 설명, 연역적 추론을 강조한 문제를 제시하고 학생들의 동기 유발이 취약하여 대학수학과 학교수학의 연계성을 예비교사 스스로 파악하기 어려운 문제가 있다. 따라서 예비교사를 위한 함수 지도에서는 대학수학의 정의뿐아니라 학교수학의 정의, 함수 개념의 역사, 함수 지도의 의의 및 수학적 능력, 활용할 수 있는 예시와 과제 등을 교재에 제공할 필요가 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The aim of this study was to identify the difficulties pre-service teachers experience when teaching the concept of functions to students and to suggest ideas of how to revise textbooks to overcome these difficulties. Firstly, pre-service teachers need to understand how and why the definition of functions in university mathematics textbooks differs with the definition found in middle and highschool textbooks. Middle and highschool mathematics textbooks attempt to motivate students using the concept description of operational approach, various tasks, etc., while the university mathematics textbook focus on the structural approach and deductive reasoning without attempting to motivation the students. As a result, pre-service teachers could not understand the connection between the functions in university and school mathematics textbooks. Therefore, to effectively instruct pre-service teachers on the functions should be revised to include the definition found middle and highschool textbooks as well as the one in the university textbook, history of function concept, the significance of the function teaching, and applicable examples and tasks.
