      다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

      Horror dwells in human’s life as a basic emotion, and has been gradually accepted by human along with the continuous development of civilization. In the meantime, kaleidoscopic works of horror, or the spine-chillers, have been drawing increasing concerns by virtue of artistic modes of expression. What counts the most in horror artistry shall be the horror analysis through a variety of creepy characters like monsters. This research firstly hasthe horror categorized and their respective characteristics analyzed, and then conducts studies on design approaches of horrific characters through three factors: first, center on bio-combination method and analyze the character pattern. second, analyze the color as a crucial factor of emotional conveyance in character design and uncover the relation between the sense of horror and the color. third, explore the relation among the horror, the reality and the daily life via analysis on horrific psychology. In the end, summarize the analysis results of the aforementioned three parts, utilize the content helpful to the design of horrific characters, and sum up corresponding design approaches. In the future, we would like to suggest a character design method that can enhance the fear to the players when making horror characters and to help them in designing horror game characters.
