      The Artificial Intelligence (AI) is currently a controversial topic in tech circles worldwide. Additionally the recent advances in technology make AI even close to reality, therefore AI is expected to have a large impact on various industry, ICT as we...

      The Artificial Intelligence (AI) is currently a controversial topic in tech circles worldwide. Additionally the recent advances in technology make AI even close to reality, therefore AI is expected to have a large impact on various industry, ICT as well as trade, manufacturing and is considered major technology field determines a country’s industrial competitiveness. This paper apprehends that global AI R&D trend including government funded projects and global company’s technologies by technology and market classifications. The fundamental technology development for example large-scale brain research and new computing research deriving computing paradigm shift has been organized by government in advanced countries. On the other hand, Japan planned cooperative strategies of AI technology and industries especially strong in the robot and automobile. Global ICT companies are starting to develop analysis SW and new SW platform technology. They tests AI’s market power through releasing AI related services and products and expects new market creation derived from AI technology. These case analysis of AI technology R&Ds by governments of advanced countries and global ICT companies can support establishment of a strategy for Korean’s AI technology R&D.
